Over Christmas, we put new floors in my daughters room, and this summer, we are going to replace our hideous carpet with some pretty new floors too. While we're at it, we are going to update our sad and dreary looking bedroom. One of the items on the list is to get a headboard.

We have a solid wood sleigh headboard that is a family piece, and as much as it breaks my heart to do so, it's time to change it out. It's just not our style. What is our style? Here's where I'm stuck. I have two styles I am in love with, and I'm hoping you can help me choose!
(1) Upholstered Headboard with Nailhead Trim
I love the clean simple lines of this headboard. It has that effortless elegance that I love.
I love the color of this one! The turquoise goes great with the brass trim!

(2) Wooden-Plank Style Headboard
I love the rustic feel of a wooden headboard like this.

So, what do you think - upholstered or plank style? It's just so hard to choose, I wish I could have them both!

ReplyDeleteI've got it! Do a plank wall with an upholstered headboard.;) I'm thinking since your favorite room has the upholstered, go for that one. It's classic and never goes out of style. You can add a wood/rustic element otherwise. The teal one is my favorite, but I tend to be practical and would go for neutral so you can change out pillows whenever you want a new look. can't wait to see what you do!

ReplyDeleteEven though I adore the wood plank, I would probably go with the upholstered look...it is just so clean and classic to me. I have no doubt with your style whatever you choose will turn out fantastic!
